Tea length dresses are so incredibly difficult to wear, and as best as I can tell, that’s the most accurate definition of the Monique Lhuillier dress that Mila Kunis donned for the 2009 Emmy Awards on Sunday night. It’s not a ball gown, not a cocktail dress – at least in a certain sense, it’s an incredibly chic tutu.
And I kind of love it, at least because it didn’t look like anything that we saw on a sometimes-boring Emmys red carpet. The deep wine color is amazing with her skin tone, and the construction is a bit non-traditional, particularly when you consider the average dress worn to these types of shindigs. Risk takers are few and far between in the age of celebrity stylists and borrowed gowns and diamonds, so I appreciate that she did something different, and the length showcases her beautiful Salvatore Ferragamo platforms, which she paired with a VBH clutch. My only criticism is that she is already so petite, and the dress hits on a part of her leg that makes her look a bit…stumpy. But I might forgive that based on all of its positive qualities.

I think she could have chosen a lighter shade belt and shoes. Everything seems too dark

I agree with Jasmine. Everything does seem dark. I also don’t really like where the dress ends on her.

I think that Mila looked great! I agree with you Shannon that one of the best things about the dress is that it’s different. These types of dresses might be difficult to wear, but Mila pulled it of well! I love the color on her and her shoes were fabulous! I also like that she didn’t pile of the accessories and kept it simple. Her hair and makeup were also gorgeous.

she is perfect! the color works for her, and it looks really different in the sea of other boring dresses. She took a risk with the length but her ankles are so tiny, that it worked. I am pretty sure she is very petite but she carried that gown! i think this dress was my favorite in terms or orginality and fit

I think Mila Kunis is so beautiful. No matter what she is wearing, you can’t help but be drawn to her face/eyes. I love the basic look of the dress, but I’m not too crazy about the length. I think the length makes her look short.

Her eyes are stunning; she really doesn’t need to do much else to stand out.

I actually really like this on her – she is a beautiful woman regardless of what she wears!

If u are petite try wearing something knee length; although some may think it is not formal enough for an award show like the Emmys.

I loved Mila here…she took a risk and she’s young enough to pull it off.
