Ever since it became clear that over-the-knee boots were going to be a trend this season, I’ve heard the same criticism of them over and over – that they look like something fit only for a sex worker. And I think that’s just not true! They’re so completely hardcore and tough and statement-y that I can’t help but love them, and I tell everyone that will listen that, when styled correctly, they look incredibly chic.
Leave it to Heidi Montag to undo all of my hard work with a single outfit. First of all, by themselves, her Christian Louboutin Alta Fifre Corset Boots are knock-me-over-with-a-feather gorgeous. Paired with opaque black tights and an ultra luxe tunic – or maybe a boyfriend-cut cashmere sweater? – they would be unspeakably beautiful. Seriously, if it wasn’t clear already, I adore them. But when you pair them with a tiny hot pink tank top and, of all things, a leather mini skirt (WHAT?), the whole thing looks like a rejected costume from a bad “Pretty Woman” remake. Add in the completely non sequitur Hermes Birkin that doesn’t match with ANYTHING else that we see here, and I fear that my head may explode.
Audrina, on the other hand, looks positively boring by comparison. I do, however, love her Chanel Crossbody Bag.

what happened to her?! i loved her style last season – but this outfit NAH – that leather skirt it’s not flattering at all, the classic birkin doesn’t fit with the style of the boots, rock and roll, edgy..that pink top is ugly..she has a lil 80s vibe or maybe she thought she has one..

Heinous. The leather skirt with the tall leather boots is conveying the wrong message. However, I have no problem with the bag not matching. I actually like it. Matching your bag to your outfit is old-school.

I don’t mean matching color – I never match my bag, color wise – I mean matching with the feel of the outfit. It looks like she stole the bag of a woman that knows how to dress herself.

I would trade my soul for those boots, which is why it’s so irritating that she completely ruins them with that outfit!

It’s like anything good she gets her hands onto – whether it’s cool or quirky or beautiful or elegant – becomes too tacky for words!
I call it the Montag effect.

She looks like a hooker. I wish Hermes didn’t sell that bag to her because she doesn’t know how to respect it. She is so gross.

besides the skirt and shirt (shudders) all her accessorries are appealing (love the bag, watch, necklaces, etc)..but all those accessories together just DO NOT work! Hermes should be able ot take back the bag and watch…

Just because u can afford something that has Hermes and Louboutin on it..doesnt always mean u know how to wear it.

Put her in the corner at night and she looks like a prostitute. A perfect fitting for that woman. Yuck.
