Kelly Rutherford carries an Hermes BirkinKelly Rutherford really loves Hermes. In fact, she loves it so much that she named her son after it. Literally, his name is Hermes. You can’t make this stuff up, people. And I thought it was bad when people named their little lap dogs “Gucci…”

Anyway, considering the overwhelming amount of Hermes handbags that her character Lily Van Der Woodsen carries on Gossip Girl, like the ostrich Hermes Birkin here, she must think that the role was made for her. And maybe it was – she plays the cold, often-divorced mom of reformed wild-child Serena with quite a bit of aplomb. Maybe the producers are paying her in Birkins as her motivation.

    As I have said in all my other posts about Birkins (and Hermes for that matter), I think they’re overrated. The bag is classic and the Ostrich is a nice tough… but again, overrated.

    That’s really funny…didn’t really put it together until you mentioned it. I agree with Jen…what a horibble, embarrassing name for a boy! Kelly is seen carrying Hermes a lot, both on and off the set…must be nice! I love all Hermes bags pretty much, but especially love the Ostrich Birkin! It’s so classy and sophisticated. I’m not a huge fan of it in tan though.

    “And I thought it was bad when people named their little lap dogs ‘Gucci…’” My SIL has a female White Terrier named Chanel. And it’s ironic that the male terrier they adopted was named “Coco.” Therefore “completing” the designer’s name “Coco Chanel.” XD But yes, it’s okay to be obsessed with a certain brand, but to go as far as naming your child after it? Real pity indeed.
    Then again I never understand why majority of celebs name their children after the most strangest things. Real pity indeed.

    uhm yeah she didn’t name her kid after the brand. she named her kid after the GREEK GOD. because hermes was a greek god. so maybe you should get your facts straight before you go insulting people when you don’t know the truth. now you just look stupid.
