Kim Kardashian is animal-friendly with Stella McCartney

Somehow I doubt that Kim Kardashian’s admiration for the Stella McCartney Chain Detail Tote comes from the same place as Leona Lewis’s love for McCartney’s Falabella Bag. In fact, I’d be willing to wager a modest amount of cash that Kim may, in fact, not be aware that the bag isn’t leather. I like Kim (and her crazy gaggle of sisters and moms and other assorted folks), but she doesn’t seem like the sort to stay conscious of those types of things.

In reality, though, that probably only says good things about Stella McCartney’s most recent set of animal-friendly bags. Usually, ethical fashion is stereotyped as neo-hippie and cheap-looking, but the fact that these bags are hot enough to become widely carried by celebs that have never made any overtures about political consciousness only means that environmentally friendly fashion is one step closer to mass-market acceptance. Whether or not you use animal products or eat meat, that’s still a pretty cool thing.
