Leighton Meester carries YSL’s latest It Bag

Oh, to be young and beautiful and on a hit show. Not only does it finance a fabulous lifestyle in one of the most exciting cities in the world, but it gets you all the good bags early. The Yves Saint Laurent Roady Hobo was just officially launched yesterday, but we caught Leighton Meester carrying it on the set of Gossip Girl earlier this week.
It’s hard to see the bag in these photos, but the red leather looks so soft and smooshy that I mistakenly thought the bag was made of suede on first glance. It looks casual and easy-to-carry and Leighton looks young and fashionable, even if her shoes are maybe a bit out of place. She gets so many points for bag choice, though, that it doesn’t even matter.

I do think the shoes are not a great addition to that outfit. The bag is awesome. The leather looks so soft and I love, love, love red.

Leighton always carries the best bags and this is no exception. I love YSL handbags and of course, love this new one too. I agree with Jessica about the shoes. Though there some hot shoes, they don’t look that great with the outfit. The rest of her outfit is nice and the red YSL adds a nice touch.

Great bag, but TBH I think that you could get a similar look and quality for far less. It has beautiful, clean lines, though. LM always looks fantastic!

I’ve been eyeballing that YSL hobo bag since I first saw pictures of it! Really like the red color of this one. All the other pictures I’ve seen have been of a black one. Just don’t think I could handle a red bag that size though…

I totally agree with Denise that Leighton always carries the best bags! Leighton looks amazing as usual in these photos. She looks casual but still with a sophisticated edge. I really like her Chloé shorts and her Louis Vuitton scarf. And I actually like her Chloé Sevigny for Opening Ceremony shoes.

Other than the fact that she looks like she is ready to be in a forth of July parade, the bag look just like every other plain hobo, and for the price (and even price aside), I much prefer Rebecca Minkoff Nikki. I think she really started the new hobo revolution.

Subtract those shoes as you said and Leighton would look fantastic. The bag looks super soft and amazing, and I really like the red. It definitely pops!

I have to say the Roady looks fabulous in adds & pictures. However, I ordered the bag in black & was not enthralled. Yes, the leather is soft & smooshy but there was just something “off” regarding the bag :-(
The snap button at the top which closes the bag leaves it gaping open strangely on each side & the handle looks really odd when it’s laying on the bag itself as opposed to being carried on the shoulder which of course, looks great. The bag seemed to “turn” at the corners once buttoned & did not align properly if that makes sense.
Maybe it’s just me but a friend bought the metallic Roady from
Neiman’s & returned hers as well. I know it’s going to be a huge hit for YSL so perhaps we are just the odd ducks in the group but we were both underwhelmed!

She looks really great!! I love her eyes, they remind me of those dolls with the “sleepy” eyes that close when you lay them down hehe. I like how her outfit is quite patriotic without screaming USA FLAAAG.
