Michelle Trachtenberg carries Botkier

For how amazing and sophisticated that they make her look on Gossip Girl, somehow Michelle Trachtenberg manages to look like a teenage emokid every time we see her away from the set. Not that I can entirely blame her here – she’s at the airport, and let’s face it, most of us probably look half-homeless when faced with the daunting task of being herded through security lines like human cattle and then stuck on a plane with stinky strangers for hours on end (I love flying, obviously).

And she is doing one very important thing correctly in this case: she’s carrying a Botkier Uma Satchel, which is from their absolutely gorgeous fall line. I might have chosen another color for an environment as grimy and disgusting (again, love flying!) as the airport, and her bag does look a tad worn, but fantastic nonetheless. Botkier uses fabulous leather in their handbags, and this style looks perfect for travel, albeit in a darker color.

Amanda, you are my favorite blogger! Your comments are always spot on! I don’t even watch The Housewives of Atlanta till I read your take on it. The show is much more entertaining that way! I hope I never have to fly again!!

I completely agree with you Amanda. Michelle really does have some nice pieces; I think she just needs to put them together differently. She might have a much different look if she learned to do that.

You really are one of the best bloggers Amanda! It’s always entertaining to read your write-ups!! As for Michelle, I agree, she definitely looks like a hot mess! Her flowered cardigan is herendous and I’m not digging the white “kedish” shoes at all. I agree with Jessica, Michelle does have some nice pieces, but just seems to lack fashion sense. She should take a few tips from her fellow Gossip Girls and develop more style.

I agree with everyone – Michelle looks like a mess! I think if she lost the baseball hat and the shoes she’d look better, but all of that together is too much “I just got up” at once.

I love the bag! I get the comfort thing but it’s definitely too much here.. get rid of the shoes and hat. The cardigan isn’t bad, looks very comfy, but the big glass, hat, shoes, etc. are just too much!

I luuuuuuurve Botkier, they turn out amazing bags! I wish that this brand would get more props around here, Monica Botkier is truly talented and quite likely the best mid-level handbag designer out there. And your write-up is spot-on (per usual), Amanda. I join the chorus of kudos for your blogging skills. ;)

no, i dont look that homeless even at the airport- when flying to europe. her shoes are scary…. and i dont really like the color of the bag.

I love love LOVE the way that bag looks (even the color! but perhaps not at an airport lol). Never was a fan of Michelle T… didn’t like her as Buffy’s surprise little sister, and I think I’ve always held that against her XD.
