Michelle Trachtenberg is All Styled Up

From this photo, it’s pretty easy to tell that Michelle Trachtenberg is styled up on the set of Gossip Girl, because normally she dresses casually, almost to the point of looking like a little street urchin. But it’s interesting to see that contrast, and hopefully it’s helpful for her personal style too.
I mean, if you had to dress one way that was completely different from your normal style, that would definitely teach you a bit about dressing. In Michelle’s case, maybe she can take some pointers from her character, Georgina, who is always quite dolled up.
And it’s no different here. Sure, she looks slightly rocker, but not to the point that it looks like the outfit is trying too hard. In my opinion, the rhinestone Bottega Veneta Gorgiera Stretch Knot Clutch is the icing on the cake- it adds old-timey glamour to that icy grey dress and black leather gladiator heels.

I like the clutch, and like Kenda said, the dress is nothing more than unflattering. I know the show is Gossip Girl, and the point of of it is to show off girls living in decadence and luxury, but I find it a tiny bit annoying that every single item shown on the show is at an astronomical price point. Even the necklaces shown for one scene are in the thousands of dollars. Would be nice to see things that are more appropriately priced.

I guess I should add that I really like the show, and I really like the posts that show what they wear and carry. Would just like to see a bit more variety. But I guess I am missing the point.

You can definitely tell Michelle is filming GG here…I don’t think she’d ever dress that nice, unless she was going to an awards show or something. She looks great here! I love the way her hair is styled and her shoes are gorgeous! The dress is really pretty, but I’m not really liking the silver shade on her…if it was purple or emerald green, it would look so much nicer against her pale skin. The clutch is beautiful!

The clutch id gorgeous and I like the dress from the waist up. I agree with Jessica that I wish the stylists of gossip girl would mix in a few pieces that were a bit more affordable so I wouldn’t have to lust after all these gorgeous pieces so much.

I love that GG puts the characters in fashion-forward wardrobes, but did they get a radically different costume designer this season? MT is in a skin-tight (not terribly flattering) dress here, and every time I see new pics of Blake as Serena, she looks dressed kind of like a hooker. I hope they don’t always start equivocating fashion-forward with super skimpy.

Oh my. If even figure-conscious starlets can look awful in that dress, imagine what it’ll do for the rest of us normal women. Which is a pity, because I actually like the dress, I think it’s a really good cross between girly and rocker with a hint of sophistication and whimsy. I just don’t want to imagine what I’d look in that thing. And hey, it’s true that Michelle always likes to dress down when she’s off-set, but to be fair, if I had to dress in those kind of awful dresses for work, they’d be the last thing I’d want to wear off-work. And hey, at least off the set she still has those totally awesome Botkier bags!

omg who picked that dress? those shoes also cut off her legs at the ankles and create stubby little leg stumps. i like her hair and her bracelet… the clutch is okay, but i don’t really like my hands or arm pit to be occupied with a clutch. her umbrella is awesome though! i’d like to have an obnoxiously big and bright umbrella for walking around windy/rainy chicago on my way to work hehehe.

Oh, god. Michelle is a skinny little girl, but that dress makes her look pudgy. And those shoes are all kinds of wrong for the dress.

She’s a pretty girl and she looks good here, but like everyone else said, her dress doesn’t look good on her at all. I’m definitely surprised, since this is Gossip Girl.
