Do you love or hate Sarah Jessica Parker’s Chanel Haute Couture look?

Well, do you? I’m still a bit undecided. When she stands with her legs crossed under her dress (as is widely considered a “skinny pose” on the red carpet, which is why so many people do it), the gilded column loses its shape. When she stands normally, you see the lines of the dress as they were intended and she looks beautiful. If she had just had someone roll her in on a wheeled platform, I think the reaction to her Chanel Haute Couture dress would have been much more positive. She can afford that, right?

Perhaps I’m just being too charitable because I feel bad for her about her hair, though. It was raining in LA, and although it looks lovely in these photos, things went off the rails for her as the night went on. She was back-lit when she got up to present, and you just can’t back-light a girl with naturally curly hair on a rainy day. It’s cruel. Her stylist should have taken her to the bathroom and re-shellacked her hair once they got inside, but she didn’t, and things turned into a frizzy mess. I wonder if it was hot and sweaty inside the theater – several other female attendees were looking frizzier than they initially did on the red carpet once they got up on stage.

There are some beautiful elements BUT no one should wear a dress that makes them look pregnant unless they actually are. Maybe a short version would work better.

I was bothered by the top of the flower point thing going off center as she moved. But I liked the IDEA of the dress, and it was original.

don’t like it. as soon as I saw it I thought someone had taken a tablecloth and the central flower arrangement and made a dress in a hurry…

hate it. it makes her look like magda from there’s something about mary…aged and from another era.

Hate it. Even more the back with that flower positioned strategically to make her behind look enorm, ous. That blue stuff they used for the flower also looks cheap. Finally hate also the make-up. Cannot stand pale lips on a pale face and don’t care if it is a 60′s look. We’re not in the 60′s anymore, you are allowed to wear dark lipstick when you need it.

Hate. The yellow satin material makes it look as though she is wearing a nightgown. The hair doesn’t look natural. It looked like she took it out of the plastic bag and just pinned it on her head.

The dress was ugly on the runway, and it’s even worse on the red carpet.

I hated the hairdo more than the dress. What the heck was up with that??? The whole shape of it was bad, not just the frizz.

I think a better hairdo could’ve made the dress look a whole lot better. SJP would’ve been better able to pull it off.

I didn’t love it..and didn’t love the hair either…but I hardly think her behind looked enormous!

Love SJP so she can do no wrong in my book. PurseBlog.com rocks! (fb)

I wasn’t a fan of this dress at all. The color, the style, the fit – none of it did anything for her. It just looked awful. And the hair! The small amount of frizz wasn’t even that big of a deal, IMO. What I think looked just awful was that the bun/twist is a completely different color from the front of her hair! It was so obvious that it was some kind of hair piece just stuck onto the back of her head! They could have least tried to add highlights to it or something to make the colors blend a little bit better! It definitely was NOT one of SJP’s better fashion nights!

even though i am slightly biased SJP fanatic.. i am still going to have to disagree i think SJP looks good in everything.. ugh hate to say it but she does.. and the back of the dress is just absolutely beaut… but the front could use a little something around the waistline so it isnt so straight.. the front is so boring, but the back really pops.
