Do you love or hate Sarah Jessica Parker’s Chanel Haute Couture look?
Well, do you? I’m still a bit undecided. When she stands with her legs crossed under her dress (as is widely considered a “skinny pose” on the red carpet, which is why so many people do it), the gilded column loses its shape. When she stands normally, you see the lines of the dress as they were intended and she looks beautiful. If she had just had someone roll her in on a wheeled platform, I think the reaction to her Chanel Haute Couture dress would have been much more positive. She can afford that, right?
Perhaps I’m just being too charitable because I feel bad for her about her hair, though. It was raining in LA, and although it looks lovely in these photos, things went off the rails for her as the night went on. She was back-lit when she got up to present, and you just can’t back-light a girl with naturally curly hair on a rainy day. It’s cruel. Her stylist should have taken her to the bathroom and re-shellacked her hair once they got inside, but she didn’t, and things turned into a frizzy mess. I wonder if it was hot and sweaty inside the theater – several other female attendees were looking frizzier than they initially did on the red carpet once they got up on stage.
