Lady Gaga wows at Grammys in super-structured Armani

Let’s get one thing straight about last night’s Grammy Awards: Lady Gaga was ROBBED. Taylor Swift may be cute in an aww-shucks kind of way, and she might have some passable ripped-from-my-teenaged-diary type of songs, but no one has done more to make popular music interesting (and FUN) again in the last year than Ms. Gaga. Where’s Kanye West when we need him?

I don’t begrudge the teenager her Grammys, but just like Avatar shouldn’t have won Best Picture at the Golden Globes, I think that the people that voted could have made a better decision. What Gaga will always win, however, is the red carpet – despite not capturing the major awards for which she was nominated, pictures of her wearing this fantastic Giorgio Armani creation, made just for her, have been the lead in every article that I’ve read today about the ceremony. Ultimately, in a business like show business, the awards don’t mean much – all that matters is who is being talked about the next day. With a gravity-defying dress, the two-tone hair of a comic book superhero, and the fiercest eye makeup that I’ve ever seen on her, Gaga has absolutely captured that prize.

So go ahead, flame me for being mean to Taylor Swift. I’m on Team Gaga.

    Lady Gaga – She looks gorgeous/love the dress, it looks beautiful! I’m such a big fan of hers, I love her style and everything that she does. She is amazing artist, she has that type of style like: Grace Jones, Madonna, David Bowie. She is a cool person, and hope to meet her. It would be amazing, would love to go to one of her concerts. She put on great performances/shows. I like the fact – she doesn’t care what people think about her – she wants to be herself, I love that about her.

    Lady Gaga – She should have won more Grammys, instead of being just two Grammys. She is too talented, and just love this girl so much!

    Amanda, you are making me a Gaga fangirl. I can now spit out a list of at least 10 outfits she’s worn, plus designers, when asked.

    Anyways, I adore this look, especially the strange star she’s carrying in lieu of a handbag. Is this a new trend? Carry Jupiter in the pal of your hand- but oh! It opens to reveal lipstick and a cell phone! Hehe.

    I never say anything bad about Lady Gaga because I would never wear her outfits. They are very theatrical and not functional for real life. However, it’s perfect for her. Giorgio Armani did a great job on her wardrobe for the Grammys. I don’t know anything about LG or her music, but I can’t wait to see what she wears next.

    I love the thought of it, which is what fashion is about. You might not wear it, but you can totally take the idea and make it your own, everyday style. The heart dress she wore during the opening can be interpreted with the e.vil tank (and it’s just as glittery is her silver dress too!)

    I agree Gaga was robbed! She should have won a lot of Grammy’s. Everybody talked about Gaga. Her music, her style, her performances.. She re-invigorated music.

    I am, as my DH and I call it, GaGA for Gaga!!! She is so much fun as an artist. A true performer. I love her daring clothes and that she makes fashion so much fun. I mean sure it is over the top, but it’s supposed to be. I love it! Oh and I totally loved those Steve McQueen shoes in Bad Romance.
