2012 Academy Awards Worst Dressed: Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad

Jennifer Lopez has no taste.

Yeah, that’s right, I said it.

What Lopez does have, however, is often a scary prospect when it’s combined with a complete lack of taste: lots of money. When those two get together, you get J.Lo’s wardrobe, including her Zuhair Murad dress from last night’s 2012 Academy Awards: too shiny, too tight, too obvious. She’s trying so hard to look incredibly expensive that she and her pantyhose-sleeved dress just end up looking cheap. Not to mention that despite having a lovely body, Ms. Lopez is now a 42-year-old mother of two. I know that she’s going through a divorce and dating some crazy 20-something with a terrible tattoo, but that doesn’t mean that Lopez shouldn’t put her days of obvious boob tape behind her. Keep the boytoy, ditch the wardrobe. Someone needs to teach Jennifer about subtlety, or if she insists on remaining over-the-top, she needs to find a more interesting way to do it.

    I completely respect your opinion, but i think you were a little hard on her. She was not one of the best dressed of the night, for sure, but still, she did a lot better than others. The dress would have been so much better if she had ditched the sleeves, but other than that, i thought it was a pretty ok dress. But i do see where you would think otherwise, i wasn’t sure about the dress at first glance either.

    I thought Jennifer looked great and I got that same impression from some men as well. She always goes full glam and I like it. As a former GPaltrw fan, the whole minimalist, slightly too skinny, Calvin Klein color crayon box is boring. To me, the dress fit as it should, draping the body. As for her being a mother of two, the dress was still tasteful (I don’t have kids but I’m not so sure many mothers would appreciate that comment) & it’s silly to think a woman over 40 should dress like she’s Meryl Streep.

    indeed. Jennifer has no style. As they say, STYLE….it’s either you’re born with it or not. Money can certainly not buy style.

    Excuse me, “victoria”….what did you say? Michelle Williams is the worst dressed? Now, the thin line between people with taste, style and elegance is truly defined. i’m sorry.

    I thought that Jennifer looked gorgeous, and the dress was well-fitted. I didn’t find it to be tight at all. I agree that the sleeves should have been eliminated.
    She reminds me of Dita Von Teese. Full-on glam at all times which is a style. I also don’t find that she tries too hard to be rich.
    For me, there were far worse looks on the red carpet. Kristen Wiig’s pantyhose/oatmeal colored gown. Melissa McCarthy’s too blousy, non-flattering dress. Jessica Chastain’s ugly Alexander McQueen (bleh). Angelina Jolie was boring in black velvet. And don’t get me started on Stacy Keibler’s ode to the Oscar statuette.
    In all honesty that red carpet was dull, unexciting, and boring.
    And I agree with seejayluvs bags, why should she have to dress like Meryl Streep because she’s over 40.

    I think she looks quite pretty. I hate the idea that a celebrity can’t dress nicely because they have hips.

    I see nothing wrong with her dress. Did you see what Toni Braxton the mother of two wore to an event and you think what JLo had on was inappropriate for her age. WOW! Was Jennifer suppose to come dressed in a potato sack?

    Love J Lo and thought she looked amazing. Totally agree with comments about Gwyneth P – skinny, dull and obvious.
    J Lo looks incredible for her age and won’t be able to dress like this much longer. More power to her I say!

    She is always over posed, wearing obvious “so-called” glam and has a look of trying way too hard. She seems to pose her face with a fake smoldering look that has become quite boring. She needs to loosen up a bit – shes a great looking woman but is so over-styled for the red carpet.

    JLo is trying too hard. Way too hard. I agree with you on that one. She is an attractive woman, but she is not classy or effortlessly elegant. And her face – albeit pretty – is becoming hard because she desperately is trying to look young.
    She is starting to have the same problem as Demi Moore. Just because you are with a twentysomething boyfriend, this does not make you one year younger.
