Michelle Trachtenberg carries neon-trimmed Stella McCartney

The Stella McCartney Falabella Bag has provided a ton of mileage for the brand. I’m not entirely sure it was even intended to be a bag that garnered serious attention – McCartney generally doesn’t rely on her accessories for market traction – but for seasons now, the bag has sold well to both the ethically concerned and leather-lovers alike. Actress Michelle Trachtenberg, for instance, carries plenty of leather bags, and here she is with the McCartney favorite.

For the unaware, Stella McCartney is a serious animal rights activist and doesn’t use leather in any of her designs, including handbags and shoes. That can make her bags a hard sell to people who aren’t vegans, serious McCartney devotees or both, but the Falabella has crossed almost all political lines to gain widespread favor in the years since its introduction. The embossed python texture on this one makes the faux leather a little less noticeable, and in general, McCartney does some of the best vegan materials in the business. I’m just not sure I’d spend serious dollars on them.
