Lindsay Lohan's Bags and Style

I almost couldn’t believe my eyes when I spied these paparazzi photos of Nicky Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, out together for a night on the town. It seemed as though I had traveled back in time at least five or six years, back to when I was in college and I used to read Perez Hilton on my laptop during my classes to keep up with the quasi-celebrities that had taken over pop culture at the time.

Back then, I was always on Team Lindsay. I’m still a big fan of Mean Girls and I liked her better than the others because she seemed like the most talented of the group. I also preferred Nicky to Paris, if I were asked to pick a Hilton. She’s the quieter, more reasonable, less flashy sister. She also has the most Balenciaga City Bags in her collection, which are a personal favorite of mine and something that she seems to reach for over and over, just like in these photos. And now it’s 2011, and LiLo is out of jail and Nicky is still the more awesome Hilton and they’re at it again. I wonder if we’ll be looking at paparazzi photos of them when they’re 40?

Between her court dates, stints in jail and rehab and the new theft charges about to be filed against her, I had completely forgotten that Lindsay Lohan used to be both an actress and someone who lots of young women looked to for style ideas. I also completely forgot about her handbag line, mostly because I subconsciously assumed it would never see the light of day after its namesake spent a couple of months in the pokey.

Well, I was wrong! That occasionally happens, and this time, it was Ms. Lohan who proved me so. Here she is, carrying the 7286 by Lindsay Lohan Angelina Shoulder Bag in blue leopard. You, too, can purchase this bag at DSW Shoe Warehouse for the low, low price of $89, which seems like about 80 dollars too many. What is 7286 anyway, her inmate number?

There are countless celebs out there who work their behinds off. And then, there are others who, well, quite frankly, I have no idea what they actually do every day. So, it kind of makes me wonder why certain celebs take so many vacations. Ok, granted, yes, they have money to do so, but otherwise, shouldn’t they be trying to get some new work?

Well, at least this is how I feel about Lindsay Lohan. It’s as if every other time I see her she is either shopping or vacationing. Again, to each their own, but I guess I just don’t get it.

Recently Lindsay was vacationing in St. Bart’s with friends. She’s pictured here on what I would imagine to be a ginormous yacht and she actually looks pretty great. I wouldn’t wear those sky high wedge heels on board, but I love her Rebecca Minkoff Stud Rocker Bag. This is one bag that I can’t get enough of and neither can LiLo.

I suppose that we should look on the bright side. The bright side, in this case, would be that Lindsay Lohan is upright, walking, and looking like she probably had a shower within the past 24 hours. Maybe even in the past 12! Her extensions even look like they might have been updated recently! They’re still not red, but I’ll take what I can get – at least she doesn’t look like she needs to be hosed off and scrubbed down. I’ll even ignore the ironic wolf tee.

She’s also carrying a handbag that looks less abused and broken then some of her old favorites, which is probably because it’s a brand spankin’ new Rebecca Minkoff Neon Nights Devote Hobo. This handbag just hit stores, so it’s likely that Lohan simply has not had time to beat the ever-loving crap out of it, as she tends to do. That, and her mom hasn’t had the time to sell it, as she’s apparently doing with a lot of Lindsay’s stuff on the Lohan family website as we speak.

I can only imagine what it must be like to be able to own so many gorgeous handbags that you feel it is ok to use and abuse one of the most coveted handbags around, a Birkin. A little while back we say Lindsay Lohan carrying a fabulous Hermes Birkin that she seemed to care less about. I assume that you all cringed as much as I did when I saw how over-stuffed and under appreciated her Birkin looked.

Well, this time, she is carrying the same Hermes Birkin but finally looks like she is giving it just a bit more love. Lilo was caught leaving Cecconi’s Restaurant in West Hollywood and didn’t seem to want to play nice with the paparazzi as she left. There weren’t any nasty words exchanged, but Lindsay was less than amused. While Lindsay wouldn’t crack a smile, I certainly did when I saw that jaw-dropping Birkin. I just hope that she continues to handle that bag with care. Sheesh!

When it comes to fashion and Lindsay Lohan I am on the fence. Sometimes Lindsay is photographed carrying a great handbag, wearing a fabulous outfit and killer shoes. Other times she looks like she hasn’t taken a shower or washed her clothes in who knows how long.

Here is a combination of what I am talking about. Lindsay is carrying a great studded handbag. In fact, this is one of the best studded bags I’ve seen in a while. I’ve become a bit underwhelmed with many of the recent studded bags, but this one I like. Unfortunately, I don’t even know how to find it because I don’t know what it is. Any ideas?

Well, the rest of Lindsay’s outfit is “blah”, at best. She was photographed after her court appearance heading to Voda Spa Center in West Hollywood. Oh Lindsay. You really need to step back and just get out of the lime light. It’s time sweetheart, it’s time. The latest and greatest is that Lindsay Lohan is facing jail time unless she attends alcohol rehab. If a court order is what it takes, then heed the judges words and take care of your business. All of this is literally unfolding as I type.

However, the images I have here are not of Lindsay going in and out of the courtroom. These images were taken while Lindsay was in Paris for Paris Fashion Week. She was not only attending Paris Fashion Week, but she was also assisting the 2010 Ungaro collection. We have one picture here where Lindsay is walking the catwalk with creator of Ungaro, Estrella Archs. Unfortunately, the reviews weren’t stellar.

Here is my other concern. Why does Lindsay look like she is too cool for school in the rest of the pictures? Give me a break. The only thing I really like is her Jimmy Choo Cara Bag. It is so fabulous. I would like that purple wrap-ish thing if it didn’t basically have a cape. It it was cut to the length that it is in the front throughout it, I would be a happy camper. Oh well, just my humble opinion.

You can abuse a lot of things. Abuse your body, abuse drugs and alcohol, abuse your relationship with your maybe-girlfriend. Whatever. But please, for the love of all that is holy, DO NOT ABUSE THE HERMES.

And, sadly, that’s exactly what Lindsay Lohan is doing in these pictures to her once-lovely Hermes Birkin. If there weren’t so many pictures of her over the past few years with the exact same bag, I probably wouldn’t even believe that that’s actually what she’s carrying here – it’s so smushed and battered that it doesn’t even look like something Hermes would but their name on. And I’m guessing that if they had the opportunity, they’d opt to remove their name from this one. Please, Linds. Don’t inflict that kind of pain on your purses.

Oh the many characters that make up Lindsay Lohan. It is almost as if she has several different facets. Well, in fact, I think she does. As much as the media criticizes her, I could not imagine what it would be like to walk in her shoes for a day. She’s always being photographed, scrutinized and picked apart. Sure, we kind of do that here, but I don’t think we are as awful as some of the other sites out there.

Yet, no matter what you think about Lindsay, she certainly carried some amazing bags. I am totally thrilled with the Thomas Wylde Day of the Dead Bag she is carrying here. It should be no surprise that the bag has studs. She likes bags that have an aspect of flare to them, just like the JJ Winters Bag she’s carried time and time again. Now while Lindsay loves both studs and fringe, she has gone over the top with her fringe “jacket” and studded bag. There is waaaaay too much going on. The bag itself is great, the “jacket” – not so much. Like I’ve said time and time again – stick to one trend and commit.

Oh Lindsay! So many outfits, so many events, so much drama. Other than being constantly photographed, what exactly is Lindsay Lohan up to these days? I realize she has a leggings line and probably gets paid to show up for appearances, but I am still at a loss. Perhaps she is going to be one of those people who continues to get photographed for years to come… for nothing.

Ok, enough of that. Let’s talk about her look! Lindsay was spotted make a mad dash, trying to escape the paparazzi lenses wearing, um, a very interesting outfit. I still cannot tell if she is wearing a dress, or a long t-shirt with shorts underneath or what. Any ideas? I am fine with Lindsay’s blond hair, but I personally prefer her as a natural redhead. How in the world does Lindsay Lohan continue to carry amazing handbags? I mean, let’s be real people, what has she done lately that helps support her handbag addiction? Well, before I say anything else, I do know that celebs are gifted bags left and right, but still, I think you see where I am going here.

Lindsay, looking rather frail was spotted carrying the Fendi Bag Du Jour as she apparently shopped for even more handbags. I cannot get over how thin she looks. I wish she would just eat a cheeseburger or something. Mmmm, a cheeseburger does sound rather good right now. I digress.

As I attempt to move past her appearance, I can’t help but return to my initial question. We all know that Fendihandbags don’t come cheap in fact, neither do the majority of the other bags she carries. Hey, if she is still pulling in royalties from her actual acting days, then good for her.

Lindsay Lohan, you’re kind of an easy target. Sometimes you look strung out, sometimes you look angry, and sometimes you look completely disoriented, all in the streets of Los Angeles for the paparazzi to capture and us to see. I’ve always been under the impression that LA is like Atlanta and not much walking is involved in living there, but somehow, you always find a way to get out there and be photographed, no matter what state you’re in. And I guess I kinda respect that, since you’re having trouble finding other ways to get yourself into the headlines. At least you’re out there every day, making yourself known. Or at least seen.

And it appears that today is a better day than most, because you’re carrying an Hermes Birkin that most handbag aficionados would love to have. And that reminds us all that, oh yeah, once you had gazillions of dollars coming in! We remember now. But really, Linds – maybe stop shopping and start auditioning. I say it out of love.
