Olivia Wilde's Bags and Style

The hobo: How do we feel? Hobo bags have been a tad passé in fashion circles for a little while, but for Spring 2012, a brand as different as Celine and Versace showed them on the runway. I don’t really feel like the trend is gaining any attraction among accessories lovers, but naturally, the increased runway visibility of the shape has meant that they’ve popped up on people’s arms a little more often than they have in the recent past. As of today, one of those people is actress Olivia Wilde.

In these photos, Olivia is carrying a Gucci 1970 Medium Shoulder Bag, which showed up on Gucci’s spring runway and is their lead bag from the collection. Personally, I don’t think there’s anything particularly special about the design or intriguing about the bag itself, but Olivia tends to wear a lot of Gucci on the red carpet, so I can see why someone who is a particular Gucci fan or who has a relationship with the brand would carry it. It’s not a bad bag by any means, it just doesn’t tickle my handbag fancy. How about you?

Before I saw these pictures of actress Olivia Wilde carrying a Proenza Schouler PS1 and looking totally casual, it hadn’t occurred to me that basically the only other time I ever see her is on the red carpet for a big event. I used to watch House every now and then back when she was on it, but that was back when I was in college, and it might have been the last time I saw her do anything besides wear an evening gown. In her defense, that probably says more about my relatively paltry entertainment consumption than it does about her career.

That being said, I almost didn’t believe the photo agency when they said that it was indeed Ms. Wilde in these photos. She’s such an absolute stunner when she’s all dolled up that I supposed I didn’t think her capable of also looking like a normal person on occasion. At the end of last year, she spoke to Allure magazine about having gained a little weight after her divorce, which may be why I didn’t automatically recognize her. She was so incredibly skinny before, and now she looks a little healthier. She also looks very happy in these photos, that’s for sure.

Tron: Legacy star and former House cast member Olivia Wilde has a way with the red carpet. No matter what the event, she manages to find a look that’s show-stopping in one way or another, so it’s no surprise that she tends to gravitate toward Marchesa.

Marchesa is a brand that exists solely to get actresses onto best-dressed lists after events like the 2011 Golden Globes, and it did just that for Wilde. Her chocolate brown dress, covered in gold sequins, is the sort of ball gown that little girls dream of wearing some day, and Olivia somehow makes it look like the most natural thing in the world. I think a lot of the success of this look has to do with her loose, underdone hair – the Globes aren’t as serious as the Oscars, and forgoing the self-serious updo makes for a refreshingly natural and unfussy look. This is not the first time we’ve seen Olivia Wilde in a grey ensemble. You might remember the gorgeous grey satin dress Olivia wore at the launch of Escadas new perfume a few weeks back. Well, fast forward and I think Olivia has found a color that looks good on her. Frankly, I have no problem when anyone hones in on what looks good on them. In fact, I encourage it!

When I first looked at these pictures I thought the dress she is wearing reminded me of a dress Renee Zellweger wore a little while back. But alas, that is not the case. Instead, Olivia is pictured here wearing a Helmut Lang knee-length gray dress with nude Brian Atwood platform pumps topped off with a great black leather jacket. Once again, her entire look is flawless. And guess what – this is just what she wore in and out of the David Letterman Show. She had a completely different and none-the-less gorgeous outfit while on the show. Sigh, what a life.

Daaaaaammmmmmnnnnn! Olivia Wilde looks smokin here! I am 100% loving what I see. Olivia was spotted promoting the new Escada Fragrance “Desire Me” at the ME Hotel in Madrid, Spain. There is no way anyone has anything but compliments to say about Olivia’s look.

Talk about fierce! The House M.D. actress was invited to be the face of the new fragrance and will be appearing in the commercials for it. Personally, I feel as though the entire look Olivia has going on absolutely oozes class and sophistication. These are the same characteristics Escada is trying to portray with the new fragrance.

Starting with the grey (seemingly satin) dress, down to the strappy black high heels and smoky makeup, the entire look is totally breathtaking. Even better yet, the 25-year old actress knows how to play dress up without looking 5, 10 or even 15 years older. GORGEOUS! It kinda makes me want to go out and buy the perfume. I can’t imagine what it would be like trying to pick out that perfect gown for an awards show, but I have to say I wouldn’t mind seeing what it is like sometime. I wonder how many gowns a given celeb has to choose from on the day of the big event. No matter how many gowns Olivia Wilde had to look over, she surely picked a head-turner!

Olivia looked amazing in her blue, floral inspired gown by Marchesa. At first glance I was confused – wondering how the dress actually stayed on her tiny body. But, there is mesh that actually keeps the cutout detail that makes up the dress together. Take a look at how low the back of the dress goes. I think I would be a little nervous, but she pulls the look off. Add smoky makeup, drop earrings, Jimmy Choo Grant Satin Pumps and what is rumored to be a Tory Burch Clutch to complete her look.
