If there’s a better way to show up to an event than riding in a candy paint lowrider, wearing a Balmain dress and Christian Louboutin Tinazata Sandals, and carrying a Chanel Reissue 2.55 Flap Bag, I certainly can’t think of what it would entail.

I’m honestly not sure why the paparazzi follow Jennifer Garner around anymore. Not that she’s not famous, of course – she absolutely is. She just seems so unrelentingly normal and down to earth that I’ll doubt they’ll ever find her doing anything even remotely interesting, let alone controversial. But maybe that’s why they persist, after all. It’s not particularly surprising when Paris Hilton gets arrested for knocking some cocaine out of her purse in front of a cop, but if Jennifer Garner got a speeding ticket? Scandalous.

At this point in the Gossip Girl run, I think that Blake Lively’s cleavage-baring outfits are something of an inside joke between the cast stylists and the show’s regular viewers. They have to be. It seems as though a lot of fashion people loved Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection of barnyard frocks and woven accessories, but I’ll be honest…I didn’t really get it. I still don’t. I want Parisian luxury and beautiful leather from Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld, and I can’t imagine ponying up that kind of money for a straw bag will applique flowers.

As they say, when in Rome, do as the Romans do. I guess if you’re going to hang out with Karl Lagerfeld and be one of his muses, wearing a Chanel Classic Flap Bag here and there is sort of…expected.

This is how you do quirky and cute without looking like an attention-starved alien from the planet Look At Me. We all know that The City star Whitney Port wears some truly bizarre outfits from time to time, so relatively speaking, what she’s got on here is pretty tame. Sure, a t-shirt emblazoned with the peace sign and baby blue ruffled hotpants may not be standard issue clothing for most fashionistas, but there’s something so delightfully unself-conscious about her outfit and her sneakers that I can’t bring myself to fault her.
