Not long ago, we lamented Leighton Meester’s nearly constant glumness on the set of Gossip Girl. There are surely many reasons to be jealous of Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester. She’s young, beautiful, talented, rich, famous…the list goes on. Those, of course, are all perfectly valid reasons and on any given day, I’d probably subscribe to all of them.

We’ve seen a lot of nice bags in paparazzi photos from the Gossip Girl set, but I can’t help but to be a little disappointed in them so far. The bags they’ve features this season are almost all Spring/Summer 2010 looks that we’ve already seen in stores and on ours friends’ arms! When on the red carpet, Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester tends to stick to things that are pretty fashion-forward. Whether that’s because it’s just her personal style or because she wants to distance herself from her on-screen character I’m not sure, but it certainly leads to some entertaining outfits for fashion critics.

Some people tend to balk at Leighton Meester’s personal style, but I think that the Gossip Girl star almost always looks fabulous. Looking at these pictures, I don’t know how anyone could disagree. Sometimes an outfit just works, on every level, and this is one of those rare occasions.

Either Blair Waldorf is going to be in a piss-poor mood for the first couple episodes of Gossip Girl’s fourth season or the lovely Leighton Meester has come down with an incurable case of the blahs. I’m not sure which one it is, but Meester seems rather peeved on the show’s Paris sets lately. Maybe she’s like me – I get sick of travelling after a week and want to go home.

Why the long face, Leighton Meester?
Let me get this straight: Leighton’s in Paris to film episodes for Gossip Girl, a show in which she stars. Her hair and makeup are professionally done and constantly touched up throughout the shoot, and she gets to wear clothes, shoes and accessories that are chosen for her by a wardrobe department that gets all kinds of adulation from style watchers, including the Nancy Gonzalez Crocodile Satchel LAI Paris Crocodile Tote, Erdem floral top and I HEART Ronson by Charlotte Ronson skirt in these photos. Clearly, the powers that be at Gossip Girl are trying to make all of us jealous. For the past week, the crew has been shooting outdoors in the streets of Paris, swathed in lovely French (or at least French-feeling) clothing and looking light and airy.

Ok, so, two things: normally I love Leighton Meester, not only because she’s on Gossip Girl, but also because she has a quirky sense of style and isn’t afraid to take risks. Also, as everyone know, I’m a huge Marc Jacobs fangirl, even when he get a little weird.

Gossip Girl is back and I am sure tons of you couldn’t be happier. I have to be honest and let you know that I catch it when I do and I don’t lose any sleep if I don’t. When I do catch it, I love it but if I miss it, I don’t hop on my computer and catch the episode online.
