Now this is like a breath of fresh air. We have information about Cynthia Nixon and it has nothing to do with Sex and the City. Don’t get me wrong, I love getting some of the insider info about the upcoming Sex and the City movie, but I was almost getting to the point that I felt like all the images would take away the hype when the movie actually comes out.

So, what do we have here? Cynthia Nixon looking absolutely amazing as she attended the NYC premier of “Did You Hear About The Morgans?” I am not really that surprised that Cynthia hit up this premier since her friend Sarah Jessica Parker is staring in it. Cynthia looks amazing in her loose fitting grey dress while holding onto a fabulous VBH Clutch. Stunning, completely stunning.

Kim Cattrall and Miley Cyrus Sparkle

Sigh, I don’t know how I feel about this. Miley Cyrus has a few cameos on Sex and the City II. Why, I have no idea. If you read this site often, you know that I am not a fan of Miley Cyrus and the way that she is dressing years older than she really is. Now, with this appearance on the highly anticipated follow-up movie, who knows what is going to happen.

Word on the street is that Samantha begins to dress younger and younger in order to keep up with Miley Cyrus. I am not sure if Miley is playing herself in the movie or what, but that is the idea behind her role and interaction with Samantha. Kim Cattrall and Miley are pictured wearing the same Matthew Williamson cocktail dresses from his Fall 2009 Collection. The accessories however are from SATC designer Pat Field and they both wore the same boots on the set of Sex and the City II at the Ziegfeld Theatre in Manhattan. So, who wore this outfit best? Kim or Miley?

I’m a Sex and the City obsessive, and when I’m honest with myself, even I didn’t love the first SATC movie all that much (I thought the consumerism was too shlocky – the whole thing about girl coming to NYC looking for “brands?” WTF?), so I was a bit dismayed when I first heard that they were making another one. I thought, why take something that had a lovely, safe place in the annals of pop culture and beat it into the ground for every cent it’s worth? It didn’t make sense.

But with every photo set that I see from the movie, I’m more optimistic. The pièce de résistance? More evidence of the 80s flashback that we heard about before, this time with even more splendid costumes! They’re 80s-tastic! And God bless Kim Cattrall, who is approximately 97 years old and still looking like the cock of the walk in a pair of pants (or are they leggings?) with sheer insets all the way down the sides. Once again, a Sex and the City character carrying the same bag we’ve already seen her carry earlier. I remember hearing that there aren’t as many wardrobe changes during this movie as much as the first one. In part, this has to do with the current state of the economy, but I am sure that there will be a plethora of amazing looks to check out.

Here, Sarah Jessica Parker is pictured walking the set of Sex and the City with Kim Catrall. I really love the plaid shirt that Carrie is wearing with a cute pair of jeans, killer Brian Atwood Loca purple heels and a Chanel Canvas Tote. The shoes make this outfit. Everything else is so casual and the studded heels pop. Talk about fierce! I want, I need, I must have them. There is no question, I would go for the heels over the bag any day!

SJP carries creamy Givenchy

I’ve never been in a movie (shocking, I know, but I’ve got a lot of life left to live), but I imagine that if I ever WAS in one, and I knew that an army of professionals were going to slather me in makeup and hair product and choose my clothes for me every day, then this is exactly how I would show up for the set every day, except I would be wearing flip flops or UGGs, depending on the weather. Because of that, I can’t bring myself to hate on Sarah Jessica Parker too much in these photos.

Sure, she doesn’t look great, but why go to the effort of doing your hair and makeup if they’re going to immediately redo it as soon as you get to work? At least she chose a great bag: the Givenchy Sacca Tote has long been one of my favorites, and Givenchy has been extremely popular recently with fashionistas in the know. It’s one of those brands that’s only recognizable to other fashion people, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want. If you’re a snob. Which, ya know, I am.

Sometimes I find myself wondering what it would be like to be one of the characters on Sex and the City. I am not talking about, “oh, of all the characters, I can relate to so-and-so the most”, I mean, what do you actually think a day in the life of someone like Sarah Jessica Parker is like while filming? Not only do you have cameras, directors, producers, make-up artists and other actors around you, if you are in a movie like SATC you have hundreds, maybe even thousands of on-lookers watching your every move.

So, while people are watching SJP’s every move, we clearly become bombarded with copious amounts of pictures from the set. Here, Sarah was pictured in between takes sporting a casual canvas tote. Or, should I say, an unidentifiable, casual, canvas tote. This is one of those bags where even folks on the Purse Forum are at a loss. Well, what about the rest of her outfit? Very Carrie. Trendy, studded jeans, a diamond-esque headband, a pair of Uggs, and a SATC sweatshirt. Hmmm, I bet she at least gets to keep that aspect of her outfit!

Cynthia Nixon sports 2 looks same Kara Ross Bag

Will Sex and the City II hit the theaters already? I swear to you, the more I see images of all the lovely ladies on set, the more and more I want to see the movie, like, yesterday! Here we have Miranda, or Cynthia Nixon carrying a fabulous Kara Ross AMO Bag in Honey Lizard with a Tiger’s Eye clasp stone. Gorgeous? I certainly think so. I came across a plethora of SATC images so I had to figure out the best way to break them down and here’s what we’ve got.

Cynthia is carrying the same bag in two different shots on the set of the up and coming movie. In one picture you have Miranda looking glamorous and chic with her Kara Ross bag and Yves Saint Laurent Tribtoo heels.

And then in the other images you have the same Kara Ross bag paired with a completely different outfit. This look is a bit more casual, a but more “Miranda running errands or meeting the girls for lunch” kind of look. I love her long grey skirt and cute grey sweater. Both outfits are great and paired with a clutch like this, you can’t really go wrong.

My, my, my…what is going on here? It looks like some sort of tacky clothing monster has thrown up all over Sex and the City’s Kristin Davis. What in the WORLD is that dress? It doesn’t even looks like it fits her. What is Patricia Field thinking?

I normally love the outrageous things that our SATC girls wear, but this is way over the line. It looks like it might be trying to eat Charlotte, and then they somehow managed to find a pair of shoes and a Nancy Gonzalez Crocodile Tote in a very, very similar shade in order to complete the horrifyingly monochromatic look. I hope that this outfit gets cut from the movie so that I can hopefully avoid every seeing it again.

Kristin Davis Sizzles with Raven Kauffman

I love Kristin Davis. She always seems so elegant and classy. You never read about her in the tabloids doing anything stupid or ridiculous. Her outfits almost always compliment her so well that you have to wonder if this is all her own doing or if she has some mastermind stylist helping her out. Most “important” celebs have stylists like Rachel Zoe to lend a helping hand. I wonder who Kristin’s stylist is (if she has one) because I’d like to give her two thumbs up.

Here, Kristin was spotted at the David Letterman Show looking fabulous and carrying an unbelievably gorgeous clutch. The Raven Kauffman Metamorphosis Bag is an absolute beauty, but you’d probably never guess what it is made out of. Any ideas? Well, it is made of all natural and untreated beetle wings! We cover loads of exotic bags, but I’ve never seen one made out of beetle wings. This is truly a first. I wonder if she carried this on Sex and the City too.

Carrie Sticks With Pink with a Tod’s Bag

Well, not quite so much pink, but magenta. Despite the fact that she is a fictional character, Carrie Bradshaw is quite the style icon, which has catapulted Sarah Jessica Parker to the top of the fashion totem pole. That’s not to say that actress and character have the same style; they most definitely do not. But they do seem to agree on one thing.

Bright, loud magenta bags. SJP has been toting a hot pink Bottega Veneta tote recently, and even Carrie has been seen with a salmon shaded Christian Louboutin hobo. But perhaps Patricia Field prefers the bold look on Carrie- case in point: Carrie’s ever-present shoulder flower- so she’s gone with the magenta Tod’s Bauletto Helmut Bag in Python to complement a starry dress and crazy lace-up Anne Demeulemeester high-heeled sandals on the set of Sex and the City.

And it works quite well, even if I’m not the largest fan of the lace-up booties. I’ll offer this much: if Carrie’s wearing it, it may work stylistically or it may not. But either way, she took the plunge, and who doesn’t need a little bit of bravery in fashion?
